Cheap and Easy Interior Mods for Honda CR-V
Life gets hectic. Between work, family, and the rising cost of living, it’s no surprise that I haven’t updated the blog in a while. But just because I haven’t done major car mods doesn’t mean I’ve done nothing. In fact, I managed to pull off a few cheap and easy cosmetic upgrades to my Honda CR-V’s interior. They were small changes, but they brought new life to my daily drives.
Cheap and Easy Way to Fix a Boring Interior
If you drive a CR-V, you know what I mean — the factory wood trim looks outdated. It feels like it was designed for a much older audience. To give the cabin a bit of a “racing” feel, I decided to go with a cheap and easy solution: carbon-look trim.
I bought fake carbon fiber panel covers for the gear console and armrest. They weren’t expensive and were easy to find on Lazada and Shopee. While they aren’t genuine carbon fiber, they still look clean and much sportier than stock.
Installation is Cheap and Easy Too
The best part? The install took less than 10 minutes. There’s no need for tools or complicated instructions. Just peel the backing of the double-sided tape and stick it on. That’s it. Anyone can do it. No car mod experience needed.
I found out that many of these parts are made for left-hand drive (LHD) models, since they’re from China. Always double-check the fitment before buying. I once bought a gear knob I liked, only to find out it didn’t align perfectly due to the LHD vs RHD difference. Lesson learned.
Luckily, the gear console and armrest pieces I bought fit perfectly on my right-hand drive CR-V.
Small Changes, Big Feel
Sure, these are minor upgrades. Some people might even call them useless. But for me, they break the monotony of everyday driving. These cheap and easy mods turned a dull interior into something that feels a little more fun and personal.
No, they won’t boost horsepower or improve handling. But they made my cabin feel like mine — and sometimes, that’s all you need.
