Waxed Chain + Big Pulley: First Ride Impressions
Today I took my Waxed Chain + Big Pulley combo out for a spin on my regular 30km route. No power meter, no speed – just a feel test. I wanted to see how much of a difference these upgrades would make.
Right away, the drivetrain felt smoother and quieter. The shifts were crisp, even under light climbing efforts. The oversized pulley wheels rotated freely, and there was a subtle but satisfying sense of efficiency.
As expected, I noticed wax flakes shedding from the freshly waxed chain. They gathered around the bottom bracket and chainstay. This is a normal part of the break-in period – a simple wipe-down took care of it.
