Yeah Yeah Yeah!!! My mechanic just made my day with not one, but TWO awesome gifts — both of which I’ve been wanting for a while:
- A Proton GTi plug cover
- A Lancer dashboard digital aircon controller
GTi Plug Cover – Needs Some TLC

The GTi plug cover isn’t exactly in mint condition, but honestly, I’m still stoked to have it in my hands. The silver paint needs to go, and my plan is to repaint it in red, just like the original GTi spec.
That said, this may only be a temporary cosmetic upgrade, as I’ve been toying with the idea of upgrading to Coil-On-Plug (COP) in the near future. Still, nothing beats that OG GTi engine bay look — even for a short while.
Digital Aircon Controller – Fingers Crossed

Next up: the Lancer digital aircon controller. According to my mechanic, either the display or the button isn’t working — he’s not sure which.
I’m hoping the display is still functional, because that’s the exact part I need to fix my current unit. If it works, I’ll be halfway to restoring my Satria’s interior to a cleaner, more modern spec.
DIY Season is Here
With the Christmas holidays around the corner, I’ve got a whole week off starting soon. That means it’s finally time to tackle my DIY backlog.
But… there’s a catch. My Satria is parked at my other house, so I still need to convince my wife to spend a few days there so I can work on it. Wish me luck — negotiations have begun!
Stay Tuned
I’ll be posting updates once I start cleaning, restoring, and (hopefully) installing these parts. Until then — shoutout to my mechanic for hooking me up with these gems.
