Before I sent my Celica in for a full repaint, I noticed that the headlamp coating had already started to peel. The painter promised to help by polishing and applying a clear coat — and while that helped, it unfortunately revealed another issue: hairline cracks on the plastic lens.
Even after restoration, those cracks remained quite visible under certain angles and lighting. Initially, I considered replacing just the lenses using aftermarket parts, which would’ve cost around RM1,200 — reasonable, but with a potential downside: improper sealing could lead to water leaks.
Just as I was about to go that route, a fellow member from the Celica group gave me a better option. He was planning to import Celica parts directly from Japan — including headlamps. Surprisingly, a set of genuine Toyota Celica headlamps only cost me RM1,180. At that price, choosing OEM over aftermarket was a no-brainer.
Here are some photos of the new headlamps — absolutely worth every ringgit. Crisp, clean, and exactly how they should be from factory. 😍
Sometimes, patience really does pay off.
