Starting My Budget Build with Mira L200s Parts
I’ve always admired the Mira L200s bodykit, even before owning a Kancil. When my sister passed her 1999 Perodua Kancil to me, I knew this was my chance to finally work on a personal K-car project. Naturally, I chose Mira L200s parts to start the transformation.
The original Kancil came with a 660cc engine and a 5-speed manual gearbox. After years of loyal service, the engine began to overheat even on short drives. I flushed the radiator and changed the coolant, but the problem persisted. I suspected a failing gasket and decided it wasn’t worth fixing the old carbureted 659cc engine with just 31 horsepower.

Instead, I made a plan. I would give the car a visual upgrade using Mira L200s parts and prepare it for a future engine swap.
First Step: The Mira L200s Bonnet
I started with the bonnet. After months of searching, I finally found one in good condition for just RM250 — a great deal considering the market price was around RM350 at the time. Installation was easy. It fit the original Kancil bracket perfectly, making it a simple plug-and-play job. However, for a perfect closure, modifying the bumper is necessary. Since I kept the stock bumper, I had to apply more force when shutting the bonnet.
Rear Bumper: Straightforward Plug and Play

Next, I got my hands on a Mira L200s rear bumper from a local K-car forum. I can’t remember the exact price, but I believe it cost around RM200. Installing it was straightforward. All mounting points and screw locations matched the original Kancil bumper, making the replacement hassle-free.
Front Bumper with Working Fog Lamps
Then came the front bumper. I bought it from a friend’s half-cut shop for RM350, slightly below the market average of RM400–RM450. Like the rear, this one fit easily. I rewired the fog lamps to switch on with the headlamps. For the indicators, I simply plugged them into the original Kancil indicator sockets.

More Mira L200s Parts Still to Come
So far, I’ve installed the bonnet, rear bumper, and front bumper. I also own a set of Mira L200s sideskirts and a L200 rear bonnet, but they’re not installed yet. This Kancil project is still a work in progress. For now, it’s not my top priority, but I’ll continue updating as more Mira L200s parts go on.
Stay tuned for more updates on the sport rims and full L200s conversion. If you’re thinking of upgrading your Kancil, these affordable Mira L200s parts are definitely worth considering!
