ENKEI RP01 Wheels: A New Look for the Proton Persona
Initially, we were waiting around at a tyre shop, but we found ourselves admiring the rims on display. That’s when I began sharing some knowledge with KC about different rim specs, like offset, width, and design. Our casual conversation quickly turned into a decision to upgrade KC’s old LENSO wheels, which had a slight bend. After some convincing, and with a little help from the shop worker, KC couldn’t resist the temptation and picked out the ENKEI RP01 wheels for his Persona.
Why Choose ENKEI RP01 Wheels?
The ENKEI RP01 wheels are a great choice for someone looking to add style and performance to their car. These wheels are well-known for their durability, lightweight construction, and clean design. The set KC chose was a Thailand-made, original copy of the ENKEI RP01, with a 17x8JJ size and a +35 offset.

The quality of the rims impressed us, especially considering the price. The finishing was flawless, and the fitment on the Proton Persona was perfect. Compared to the old LENSO wheels (17x7JJ with a +38 offset), the ENKEI RP01 wheels are slightly wider, which gives the car a more aggressive stance and better road grip.
Installation Process
The wheel upgrade was relatively straightforward. The shop staff handled the installation, ensuring that the rims were properly fitted and balanced. As with any new wheel installation, it’s important to check the offset and alignment, and luckily, everything was spot on. After a few hours, the ENKEI RP01 wheels were securely mounted on KC’s Persona.
The car instantly looked better, and the larger, wider rims made a noticeable difference in appearance. The stance was much more aggressive, and the added width of the rims gave the Persona a more solid presence on the road. The finishing was a perfect match for the car’s overall aesthetic.

The Total Cost of the Upgrade
KC’s new ENKEI RP01 wheels, along with installation, cost him RM930. He also added RM50 for the new wheel nuts. Given the quality of the rims and the impact they had on the car’s appearance, the cost was well worth it.
Conclusion: A Worthwhile Upgrade
Upgrading to the ENKEI RP01 wheels was a great choice for KC’s Proton Persona. Not only did they improve the car’s look, but they also provided better performance on the road. If you’re considering a wheel upgrade, the ENKEI RP01 is a solid choice. With their durability, great finish, and sleek design, they’re sure to enhance any vehicle.
