The wait is finally over. I just received a fresh haul of Lancer parts, and I couldn’t be more excited. This batch includes a few essentials with one rare surprise I didn’t expect to find – a brand new MMC Lancer center frame cover.
Steering Hub Adapter (No Brand)
First up, a no-brand steering hub adapter. Nothing fancy, but it should do the job. I’ll test fit it soon. If it works well, it might just be the hidden gem of this order. No regrets here since it was cheap and easy to find.
Lancer Parts: 71-Degree Thermostat
Then, a 71-degree thermostat. A cooler thermostat helps the engine stay in the optimal temperature range, especially during hot days. I plan to install it together with the radiator. Hopefully, this improves cooling performance and prevents overheating.
Full Aluminum Radiator
Now, onto the full aluminum radiator. It’s a big upgrade from the stock plastic one. Better heat dissipation and durability. I haven’t tested it yet, but I expect noticeable improvements in engine temperature management. This will pair nicely with the new thermostat.
Air Filter (Wasted Purchase)
However, not everything went smoothly. I bought an air filter, but it didn’t fit. Total waste. It’s disappointing, but it happens. Not all aftermarket Lancer parts fit as expected. I’ll be more careful with measurements next time.
Lancer Parts: MMC Lancer Center Frame Cover (Brand New!)
Here’s the star of this haul — a brand new MMC Lancer center frame cover. I honestly didn’t think I’d find one still new. Most listings are for used parts, often priced around RM300–350 in good condition. You might find one for RM200–250, but those usually have cracks or damage.
But this? It’s factory fresh. I scored it for RM380 with shipping included. For something this rare, that’s a solid deal. I thought I’d have to settle for a used unit. I’m glad I didn’t.
Final Thoughts
The radiator and thermostat will improve performance. The steering hub adapter is a budget-friendly mod. And the brand-new center frame cover? That’s the real win.
Buying Lancer parts online can be hit or miss. But with a bit of luck and careful browsing, gems like this are still out there.
