As I mentioned in my earlier post, my Celica was having engine stalling issues. Yesterday, I finally had to make the call and get it towed to the workshop for repairs. I specifically requested a flatbed tow truck because I didn’t want to risk damaging my bodykit—lowered cars and normal tow trucks just don’t mix.
It was a sad sight seeing my Celica being loaded onto the flatbed. I couldn’t help but feel anxious, hoping the issue isn’t too serious (or too expensive to fix). The experience definitely taught me a valuable lesson: never leave your car parked and untouched for months. At the very least, start the engine and let it warm up every now and then.
The towing cost me RM150 from Bayan Lepas to Pulau Tikus, Penang. I’m not sure what the standard market rate is, but for me, the price was fair considering the flatbed service and peace of mind.
If you’re looking for a reliable tow truck service in Penang and want their contact, feel free to drop me a message or leave a comment below.
While waiting for updates on the repair, enjoy a few shots I took during the towing process—Celica’s unexpected photo shoot day!
