Upgrading to SAMCO Silicone Hose for Better Cooling
When I inspected my Satria’s engine bay, I noticed the radiator hoses looked worn out and brittle. That’s when I decided it was time for an upgrade. My choice? A SAMCO silicone hose set — known for its durability and performance.
Rubber hoses can crack or burst under high heat, especially during long drives or spirited driving. So, switching to silicone isn’t just a cosmetic mod — it’s practical. I didn’t want to risk overheating on the highway and ending up with a big towing bill.

Choosing the Right Silicone Hose Brand
There are several brands in the market like JASMA, ELEVO, and SAMCO. JASMA hoses were the most budget-friendly, but I was unsure of their long-term durability. ELEVO seemed okay, but not many people use them, so I couldn’t find much feedback.
For a slight price increase, I could get a SAMCO silicone hose, a proven brand with a solid reputation in motorsports and track builds. It just made sense to go for peace of mind and long-lasting performance.
Installing the SAMCO Silicone Hose
After buying the SAMCO set, I had to wait a bit due to my busy work schedule. Finally, I squeezed out some time during a public holiday to get the install done.
Here’s how I replaced the hoses:
- Locate the top and bottom radiator hoses.
- Use pliers to loosen and remove the hose clips.
- Drain the radiator completely to make installation easier and avoid coolant mess.
- Remove the old hoses and compare them with the SAMCO silicone hose replacements.
- Fit the new hoses — the bottom hose was a bit tricky due to tight space.
- Reattach and tighten all clips properly.
- Refill the radiator with coolant. I used Toyota Long Life Coolant (make sure to avoid fake ones in the market).
After a quick test, everything looked good. No leaks, tight fit, and a more confident drive ahead.

Final Thoughts on SAMCO Silicone Hose
The SAMCO silicone hose install was a small but important upgrade. It may not be flashy, but it adds reliability to your build. I can now drive with more confidence, knowing the cooling system won’t fail me during demanding conditions.
Stay tuned — more updates coming soon on my Satria project car!
